Betty Playford Bernst 82 died in Arlington, Virginia on Sunday, August 26, 2007. Mrs. Bernst was a secretary for the Brazillian Aeronautical Commission in Washington D.C. for 22 years, she was also a secretary for the Dept. of the Army (Hoffman Building) in Alexandria, Virginia for 6 years and for the State Dept. for 6 years. Mrs. Bernst was a graduate of St. Petersburg High School Class of 1943. She is survived by her husband of 64 years: Donald S; a son: Ken Bernst; a daughter: Melanie Konarik; a brother: Garth B. Playford; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, Sept. 6, from 4-7 P.M. There will be a graveside service on Friday, Sept. 7, 2007 at Sunnyside Cemetery 5300-19th St. No. St. Petersburg at 11 A.M.
