Freeman A. "Jack" Phillips Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Phillips, Freeman A. (Jack) 80 of St. Petersburg died Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at home under the care of Hospice. He moved here in 1950 from his native Waterville, Maine where he was a member of the Waterville High School State Championship Basketball and football teams in 1945. He was also a life member of the Scottish Rite and Waterville Lodge #33 F. & AM. He was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity at the University of Maine and served in the U. S. Navy during WW II aboard the cruiser U.S.S. Dayton. Locally he was a member of the Egypt Temple Shrine in Tampa. He enjoyed going to Las Vegas, Derby Lane and watching all sporting events. He was founder and owner of AAA tile Service founded in 1951 and continues to operate as a family owned business. Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife of 55 years: Lucille; three sons: Darby A., Larry D.; Robert J., a daughter: Denise J. Perino all of Florida; four grandchildren: Chase, Taylor Julia and Sara; two sisters: Joan Colson, Georgia; Marlene Alspaugh, Texas; a brother: Robert E; Florida; The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, June 16, 2007 from 2:00 P.M. until service time at 3:00 P.M.
