Packard, Ralph Avery Jr. longtime resident of St. Petersburg area died Sunday Sept. 2, 2007 after an illness at the Bay Pines VA Hospice. He was born 1928 and raised in the Bronx, N.Y. He served in the U.S. Navy and Air Force and was part of the Army of Occupation of Japan. He was a devout member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Tampa. He never married. He was predeceased by his sisters Catherine Ludlow and Ruth Packard and by his brother William Packard. He is survived by a niece Maureen Demetriou and two nephews, Howard and Francis Ludlow. A viewing will be held Thursday night from 6-8 P.M. with a Rosary service at 7 P.M. at the R. Lee Williams & Son Funeral Home, 3530 49th Street North, St. Petersburg. Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 A.M. Friday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 2404 E. Stuart St. Tampa, with burial following at the Shrine of Fatima Cemetery in Brooksville.
